  1. James Macpherson Says:

I bought this product from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. What most surprised me was the size – it is very small, much smaller than the average USB drive. If you don’t attach it to something it would be very easy to lose. They’ve made it smaller in part by getting rid of the metal casing that usually surrounds the connector (see the picture). Because of that, this drive sits a bit more loosely in USB slots.

Also, because there’s no casing, it is possible to put the drive into a USB slot upside down. The only way you’ll know it’s upside down is that the computer won’t recognize it.

Other than that, the drive works exactly as it should. The slide mechanism that protects the connector works well, although it is a little sensitive. You have to make sure that you’ve taken all pressure off it to lock it in place before using it.

The drive feels well made, and I’m confident it will last a long time in my pocket. I’ve had no problems at all with it so far.

UPDATE (17 July, 2009): After six months of heavy use the plastic casing around the metal clasp has cracked. It looks like it will still be functional, at least for a while, but it’s starting to deteriorate.
